Position: Procurement Officer, Merchandise & Apparel
Term : Part-time
Salary: 30-35$/hour based on experience
Hours: 10-15 hours per week
About Maverick Volleyball
Maverick Volleyball is one of Canada’s leading volleyball clubs, serving thousands of athletes across competitive and development programs. As our organization continues to grow, we are seeking a Procurement Officer to oversee the sourcing, purchasing, and vendor management of uniforms, team apparel, and coach gear for the club.
This role will ensure that Maverick athletes, staff and supporters are equipped with high-quality apparel while maintaining strong vendor relationships and cost-effective purchasing practices.
Role Overview
The Procurement Officer will be responsible for managing the procurement of all Maverick team apparel and coach wear. This includes coordinating ordering cycles, maintaining vendor relationships, monitoring inventory and deliveries, and ensuring that athletes receive their apparel in advance of seasonal program requirements.
The successful candidate will also participate in the evaluation and selection of apparel vendors, helping Maverick identify strong long-term partners for apparel and equipment supply.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Apparel and Merchandise Procurement Management
- Plan, coordinate, and manage the purchasing of team uniforms, athlete apparel, coach apparel, and merchandise
- Align apparel requirements with club leadership, coaches, and operations staff
- Coordinate ordering timelines to ensure on-time delivery for programs and competitions
2. Vendor and Supplier Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with apparel and equipment vendors
- Participate in vendor evaluation and selection, including proposal review and recommendations
- Support cost management activities, including pricing discussions and negotiations where appropriate
3. Online Store and Inventory Oversight
- Manage the Maverick Online Store, including budgeting, forecasting, and merchandise planning
- Track orders, deliveries, and inventory levels to ensure accurate fulfillment
- Monitor inventory and reorder needs to support program demand
4. Branding and Quality Standards Compliance
- Ensure consistent application of Maverick branding, logos, and apparel standards across all products
- Verify product specifications and quality before approval and distribution
5. Financial Tracking and Purchasing Administration
- Support purchasing-related financial processes, including invoice tracking and approvals
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, order documentation, and audit trails
- Use purchasing and accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks Online) to track orders and expenditures
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or buying roles
- Experience working in athletics, collegiate sports, or team-based apparel purchasing is strongly preferred
Skills
- Strong organizational and vendor-management skills
- Ability to manage bulk orders and seasonal purchasing cycles
- Strong attention to detail and order accuracy
- Ability to balance quality, cost, and delivery timelines
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Assets
- Experience with QuickBooks Online or similar purchasing/accounting systems
- Bilingual (English, French)

Work hours will fluctuate across the season. During peak periods, you can expect to work more than the anticipated 10–15 hours per week, while other periods will require fewer hours. The average over the year will be between 10 and 15 hours per week.
